When Cameron Diaz looks to prove her ex-fiance wrong about her lack of spontaneity in the movie “What Happens in Vegas,” she randomly plants one on Buffalo native Blair Braunstein.

“It was definitely unbelievable,” Braunstein said. “It was surreal, so surreal.”
The Buffalo State College biology major plays an unassuming busboy who encounters Diaz’s character when he puts a tub of dishes and plates on a counter of a bar. A scorned Diaz is sitting nearby, discussing the details of her breakup with her gal pal, the bartender.
“And then she grabs me and kisses me,” he said. “And I’m like completely dazed.” Braunstein’s character comes to only after the bartender throws lemons at him.
Braunstein’s previous work includes a Verizon commercial — he was one of the many faces that make up “the network.” But Braunstein’s small, nonspeaking part in “What Happens in Vegas” is his biggest yet on his acting resume.
